How do we book you as our wedding photographer?

Do we need to pay a deposit to secure our booking and is it refundable?
For advance bookings, a deposit of 30% of your total price is needed to secure your wedding date. Depending on how far in advance you are booking will then depend on any instalments we may agree. Any remaining balance will need to be paid in full 30 days before your wedding date. In the event that you cancel, your deposit wouldn't be refundable. Happy to reschedule where necessary and possible.
Can we meet before the wedding?
Absolutely! I love to meet all of my couples and find out as much as possible about your love story and your vision for your wedding day. It helps me capture it the way you want it. If for any reason we can't meet face to face, we can organise an online meeting and I'm always available on the phone. My bespoke plus package also includes an engagement shoot which is a great way to get us started.
Do you shoot mid-week weddings?
Absolutely! Just drop me a line to check my availability.
We hate having our pictures taken!
Ok, so this isn’t actually a question. However, a lot of couples do tell me this. Don’t worry, the majority of your day I’m capturing natural smiles and moments, nothing forced at all! We don’t have to do the traditional couples shots if you really don't want them. If you do want them, we can nip off from the madness of the wedding for 15 – 20 minutes, I will guide you, we’ll have a laugh, I might do some setting shots (from a bit of a distance) where you can both share an intimate moment and chat about your day so far, it'll be relaxed fun and you’ll get some awesome images.
Do we need a second photographer?
Not necessarily. I capture most weddings on my own. Depending on the venue (or sometimes multiple venues and distance between them) it can make sense to have two of us capturing your day, we can talk this through to see if it makes sense and I can organise photographers I've worked with before.
you have a natural & relaxed style, do you still take the posed and family line up shots?
Absolutely. I'm not however one of those photographers that takes up loads of time doing it! For the family shots you provide me with a list in advance of the shots that you want (usually recommend 5 to 7 depending on family size), on the day I'll make sure we get through these as quickly as possible so there is no unnecessary hanging around.
How far can you travel to photograph our wedding?
Although I'm based in Leicestershire / Warwickshire, I'll travel anywhere really, I've photographed weddings in the UK and abroad. My packages include travel up to a certain distance from my home, depending on the package. I'm happy to travel further but travel expenses, and sometimes an overnight stay need to be included, I don't look to profit from it but it just needs to be practical for all involved.
We love Black & White images - do you shoot in B&W?
I always provide a combination of colour and black and white images for my wedding photography couples. Some shots just naturally lend themselves to that timeless look. Once you receive your images, if there are any that you'd like in B&W then just let me know and I'll provide edits for you.
How many images will we receive?
There is no upward limit and the final number will depend on the package you booked. Check out the packages or drop me a line if anything is unclear.
How do we receive our photos?
You will receive your photos with your own personal online gallery. You will be able to share, organise albums, canvases or prints directly from your gallery as well as download high res and web sized images for sharing on social media etc.. Some of my packages also include an additional copy of all the images on a personalised USB sent directly to you.
How long does it take to receive our photos?
I try and turn them around as quickly as possible for you. It can depend on how busy it is at the time but at the outside I like to set expectations of 6 weeks. It is normally quicker but I'd rather get them to you quicker than expected rather that you feel they are delayed. I also normally drop some teasers to you after around 10 days.
Who owns the copyright to the images?
The copyright to images stays with the wedding photographer. You receive a Personal Use license which allows unlimited prints/albums, downloads, and shares on social media.
The license doesn't cover any commercial use for you or third parties.
Can we make prints/albums from the files?
Absolutely! The gallery service I use actually makes this really easy to order prints, albums, canvases and wall art. I'm happy to help proof albums for you too. If you want to do this yourself that is also no problem, download the high res images and use whatever printers you want to.
